Teacher of Mathematics
(Possibility of additional responsibility)
(Maternity Leave Cover up to 12 months- Commencing February 2021)
Heathcote School is an 11 – 18 school on a rapid journey of improvement. The Headteacher joined the school in 2017 and is working with all stakeholders to ensure we provide the best education and life chances we can to the young people of our community. In September 2018 we had a full Ofsted inspection where we were graded as good in all areas. This is an exciting time to be at a school in an unparalleled setting with unlimited potential in a high challenge, low threat environment.
We are looking for a qualified and talented Teacher of Maths to teach across the ability range to GCSE and A Level. This is a temporary post to cover Maternity Leave for up to 12 months. You will be working with and supported by an experienced team of strong teachers and leaders, including a Director of Maths, Second in Maths, Key Stage 3 and 5 Lead and a Lead Practitioner. In particular, we will need you to be able to inspire our pupils to re-engage with Maths and continue to fill the gaps in knowledge since pupils have returned to school following the lockdown period. There may also be an additional responsibility with TLR available for the right candidate.
We welcome applications from newly qualified or experienced teachers. As an NQT or Beginner Teacher at Heathcote School, you will be supported by experienced colleagues on a range of issues relating to planning, teaching and assessing with a dedicated mentor and a skills development programme that will provide you with the experience required to be a successful practitioner in education.

The school has excellent resources and a stunning, spacious site on the edge of Epping Forest including a staff car park and surrounding roads that do not require a parking permit. We are also a 15 minute walk from Chingford Station which has great links into the City.
