A vacancy has arisen in the ICT Desktop Support team. As an ICT Desktop Support Officer (Service Desk and 2nd Line) you will be a member of a hardworking, busy team supporting all departments across the council. You will help provide a high quality desktop support service within the ICT Operations department ensuring all service requests, incidents, problems and projects are captured and progressed swiftly in such a way to deliver robust, reliable and cost effective ICT which meets customer needs and expectations as agreed in all corporate Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).

Your work will be varied but the essential skills and experience required for the role includes, but is not limited to, the configuration and management of Windows based PC’s, Laptops, Tablets and Thin Clients and enterprise levels of desktop software such as Microsoft Office and Teams. Knowledge and experience of desktop peripheral devices, device imaging, MFD’s and service management tools such as Ivanti would be advantageous.

Practical knowledge of desktop hardware and software, a systematic, logical approach to problem solving and a minimum of 3 years’ experience of implementing high quality, customer focused desktop support services are essential. This is a challenging but highly rewarding role that would suit a highly motivated, committed and versatile individual who will become fully integrated into the current team. You will be experienced working on multiple projects at the same time whilst helping colleagues resolve incidents, problems and investigate events. As a systematic, disciplined and analytical problem solver, you will demonstrate a proactive approach, the ability to prioritise your workload within demanding schedules, excellent communication skills and the ability to take ownership.
