Due to the continued expansion and development of our commercial function a vacancy exists within our Strategic Procurement and Contract Management team.

 

 

 

Your role in our journey

 

 

 

Monitoring Officer

 

 

 

A strong communicator and negotiator, you’ll relish the opportunity to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be responsible for conducting visits and inspections across the Barnsley borough and report on the performance of the facilities management providers in respect of the maintenance of schools.

 

 

 

As a Monitoring Officer you’ll ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, legal and statutory requirements and the council’s contract procedure rules and financial regulations.

 

 

 

Recognised for your knowledge and experience of monitoring contracts or programmes of work you’ll interact closely with schools and other stakeholders to ensure that key performance indicators, including a high quality school meals provision are delivered.

 

Crucially, you will share your experience of monitoring budgets, raising invoices and ensuring prompt payments. 

 

 

 

What you’ll need

 

 

 

To join us, you’ll need to either have a relevant professional level 4 qualification or equivalent. Relevant experience of a contract monitoring role in operational facilities management, ideally within a school or learning environment is desirable but not essential.

 

You will certainly bring to the role your ability to work on your own initiative with flexibility and adaptability as well as being an excellent team player and capable of working with others collaboratively. A skilled analyst you’ll have a developed a methodical approach to the preparation of documentation, data and reports.
