Your New Role
In this role you will assist service users to meet their social and physical rehabilitation goals by enabling users to achieve skills for independent living, such as: household tasks, shopping, cooking, interpersonal skills, personal care (involving moving and handling). You will assist with administration of medication and work with support and guidance from the Therapy and Social Work staff. You will provide group activities and therapy programmes, as well as report significant changes in the service to appropriate professionals. You will keep accurate and confidential records and attend regular training.
What you’ll need to succeed
You need to have experience in health or social care or in a role similar to this one. You will have adequate literacy and numeracy skills as well as an understanding of the needs of the service user. You should have patience and be able to sensitively assist service users to maintain their independence. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to maintain confidentiality. You will be able to offer social and emotional support to service users and be flexible to adjust to ever-changing client needs. You will work well in a team and be physically fit enough to provide personal care and manual handling.
