The Business Applications Support team provides specialist support for mission critical applications used across Surrey County Council. The team is part of the wider Enterprise Applications Portfolio which supports and delivers complex applications across Surrey County Council, East Sussex and Brighton & Hove City Council.
The Business Application Support team's main function is to implement, manage and support a varied applications portfolio used across many services. The team consists of a Business Applications Team Leader, two Senior Application Specialists and four Application Specialists.
Our goal is to maintain a Centre of Excellence and Best Practice in Applications Service Delivery by improving the support of current applications and associated integrated technologies.
In this role you will develop, manage and co-ordinate the critical activities of the assigned applications portfolio, focussing on management and technical service delivery. You will provide day to day support for tactical applications, implementing and transitioning to new technical solutions. You will also adopt best practice application operations and exploit new technologies, including 3rd party supplier management.
To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:
- An in depth technical knowledge/experience of tactical applications which underpin front line service delivery
- Knowledge/experience of Local Authority Services and practises
- Your analysis and problem solving skills
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of IT service management (ITIL framework)
- Good knowledge and understanding of databases e.g. SQL 2016 Server
- Knowledge of delivering Citrix based applications and Microsoft AD
- Experience in a relevant supporting role for an organisation of a similar size and complexity as the Orbis partnership
- Experience of leading on projects
- Experience of leading teams
