Housing Income Officer
(12 months fixed term)
Full-time (36 hours flexible)
Salary £21,399 - £25,935 (dependent on experience)
Work base: Flexible, with remote working expected into 2021, subject to regular review.
It’s an exciting time to join the Community Wellbeing team within Spelthorne. Construction is underway for our redeveloped temporary accommodation for families, and our brand new purpose built supported accommodation for single homeless residents. We have also just launched our ambitious Homelessness & Rough Sleeping Strategy 2020-25 which aims to end the use of bed and breakfast accommodation, promote independence and wellbeing and maximise the use of the private rented sector for homelessness prevention and relief.
In order to achieve the ambitions of our strategy, we need to ensure that we maximise our income potential. To support this work, we are looking for a Housing Income Officer to support the team over the next twelve months.
Whilst you will be working in the Housing Register & Finance team, you’ll be part of the wider Housing Options team, so you’ll be well supported in your role. Having good computer skills, particularly with spreadsheets, you will have the ability to reconcile financial accounts. It’s essential that you hare able to work on your own initiative, as you’ll be working to tight deadlines and you’ll need to take ownership of your work.
Ideally, you will have some knowledge of the process of Housing Benefit claims, but you’ll have the opportunity to learn if you don’t.
This is an exciting opportunity to make your mark in Spelthorne, and in doing so, support some of the most vulnerable residents in our community.
Closing date: 22 November 2020 (11.59pm)
Interview date: Monday 30 November / Friday 4 December
Interviews will be held via MS Teams.
