Permit and Enforcement Inspector
Halton Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the Permit & Enforcement Team. You will report to the Permit & Enforcement Manager and work as part of a busy team to ensure the Council fulfils its duties under the Traffic Management Act, New Roads and Street Works Act and Highways Act.
As an NRSWA Permit Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting all highway related activities including Street Works, Highway Licensing and skips/scaffolding on Halton’s road network. You will be tasked with assessing permits, performing inspections, assessing utility compliance and inspecting Traffic Management on the road network.
As we are a customer facing team, you will liaise with customers and utility companies in a kind, professional and friendly manner. Halton Borough Council is a Permitting Authority.
This diverse role will involve site visits well as office-based work including report writing.
You will be a highly-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills, good communication and the ability to deal with competing demands. You will possess good time management skills, be flexible, and be able to work under your own initiative to tight deadlines.
