The Group Manager post within the Approved Mental Health Professional service has been newly created to meet the increasing needs of this statutory service.
It’s an exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to move into management or has an established career in AMHP management. We are looking for the manager to be a qualified AMHP who will continue to practice in this area to support the everyday challenges; but you will also be integral to providing quality supervision, reflective sessions, training, policy writing as well as partnership working being integral in promoting future developments from agencies on the island and nationally.
This position will give you a blank canvass to enable you to fully embed future initiatives. We are acknowledging the need to support this service progression and therefore are also advertising for newly created posts as well an agreed long-term plan to support internal colleagues to complete the AMHP training.
We are looking for a person who will support our existing AMHPs and encourage new ways of working to promote quality assurance and implement new systems that create a time effective pathway for the person receiving our services.
As we are a relatively small service so our AMHP colleagues also hold cases and are mainly aligned to the IOW councils Mental Health Team. As the AMHP manager you will work closely with the Community Mental Health manager to meet both needs of the service.
You will work closely with the service manager and receive regular 1-1 meetings and support from peer managers and opportunities for further training to support your management development.
The successful applicant will be based at County Hall, Newport but we also embrace remote working, therefore you will not be expected to be office based 5 days a week.
We are also introducing 9 day fortnight to the AMHP service which you will be offered to opt in to should this offer you a better work life balance.
