Role Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Regulated Services and Children’s Resources service group in Tower Hamlets to become a team manager in our fostering teams.

Role Purpose – Children's Placement Team Manager (CPT)

The overall purpose of the role is to ensure that the team provides area based social workers with a range of quality assured placements in a timely manner. In this role the team manager will:

- manage the borough children's placement commissioning team which will comprise of three social workers, one post 18 housing worker and up to three business support workers.

- lead on commissioning partnerships with other local authorities.

- lead on the quality assurance of placements commissioned by the team.

- lead on the placement monitoring visits to external provider agencies.




Key Responsibilities

To set the strategic direction of the team through the annual team plan.

To oversee all the day to day casework undertaken by the team.

To undertake the monthly 1 - 1 supervision of the workers in the team and to conduct the annual Performance Development and Review (PDR) of each member of the team.

To undertake the performance and sickness management procedures in relation to the workers in the team.



Requirements

The team manager will need to have had recent experience of supervising staff in a statutory social care setting and be willing to undertake management training under the council’s leadership and management framework. You will need a recognised social work qualification, current Social Work England registration and DBS clearance.
