COVID Ambassadors

   

Contract:             Casual

Hourly rate:         £12.78 + holiday pay          

Due to current regulations on social distancing, Surrey Heath Borough Council are recruiting Covid Ambassadors who will ensure that social distancing is adhered to and the correct protection is being worn in busy areas following the reopening of many shops and businesses.  Would you like to be part of the team that ensures the safety of the public during these unusual times?

 COVID Ambassadors, will be responsible for:

  • promoting social distancing and encouraging public compliance with COVID-19 public health measures
  • educating and explaining COVID-19 Secure guidelines in the public realm and for business premises
  • identifying and supporting businesses and premises not following guidelines, escalating as appropriate
  • signposting members of the public and businesses to government guidance
  • directing pedestrians and managing pedestrian one-way systems
  • guiding pedestrians through exit and entry points
  • checking and promoting visibility of COVID-19 Secure messaging
  • handing out face coverings

Successful applicants will be confident communicators with previous experience of engaging with the public, and conflict resolution. Happy to work as an individual or part of a small team and be able to positively respond to the needs of our partner organisations. This role is not to enforce COVID-19 regulations, or have any enforcement powers, which remain the remit of the police and designated local authority enforcement officers.

This role is on a casual basis so you do not need to accept any hours offered to work and we do not have to offer hours. You will be required to undertake at no cost to you a DBS criminal record check and will be provided with a full training programme.
