The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2018 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2018 Regulations.
If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2018 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
About the role
The Weald Federation (Five Ashes, Frant, Mayfield and Mark Cross Primary Schools) require an experienced Clerk to Governors for the Federation Governing Board to:
- Provide professional advice to the governing board on governance, constitutional and procedural matters. The 2013 regulations require governing bodies to have regard to advice from the clerk in regards to exercising the governing board functions.
- Provide effective administrative support to the governing board and its committees including minute taking and convening meetings.
- Ensure the governing board is properly constituted.
- Manage all governing board information effectively in accordance with legal requirements.
- Provide support to the governing board in order to meet all of its statutory duties
The Weald Federation was formed in September 2019 with the amalgamation of Saxonbury (Frant and Mark Cross) and Aspire (Mayfield and Five Ashes) Federations. The school, with one central Governing Board, are working together to enhance both the academic and pastoral opportunities for the pupils. The larger federation also offers staff a wide variety of CPD and career progression opportunities.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
