About the role

SENDCo

Full time contract (part-time will be considered)

Qualified Teacher Status + TLR2C

Required from January 2021, or sooner if available

The Headteacher and Governors are seeking to appoint a highly inspirational and motivational SENDCo who is committed and passionate about meeting the needs of our students so they can achieve their potential.

You will need to have a strong awareness of the relevant SEN legislation that underpins SEN within schools. Working as part of a wider team, you will promote inclusion of all students and their families within the school community to ensure progress and meaningful access to the curriculum, facilities and enrichment activities.  You will be expected to have a strong belief in the benefits of differentiation, raising pupil self-esteem, aspiration and attainment levels.  You will play a pivotal role in tracking and improving progress measures of vulnerable students.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, with experience of multi-agency working. You will work closely with our senior leadership team, supporting and liaising with staff, parents and external agencies to ensure identified student’s needs are met.

Visited by Ofsted in February 2017, Robertsbridge Community College maintained its ‘Good’ status, with the official report stating the following; “New teachers feel very well supported and all staff value the helpful opportunities for professional development in a culture of encouragement.”

With the opening of a new specialist facility at the College in September 2020, this is an exciting time for the SEN department as it moves to its next phase of success.
