We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and innovative individual for the post of Anti-social Behaviour Officer.

This post will allow you to have a real impact on the lives of those who live in Newark and Sherwood. You will work with partner organisations such as the police and County Council to investigate allegations of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), proactively prevent ASB, and reduce ASB through the use of appropriate legal powers and participation in partnership initiatives throughout the district.   You will support the Community Safety Partnership in its work across Newark and Sherwood.

You will take a lead in developing and coordinating strategies and processes to be used to tackle ASB and other related community disputes. You will take a holistic view looking at prevention, support, education and mediation as well as enforcement. To ensure that the best approach is taken, you will investigate cases and complaints working in partnership with other relevant agencies. You may also be required to prepare case files and attend court as a witness.

The successful candidate will have experience working in partnership with a range of public sector agencies including the police, of preparing case files for prosecution and of monitoring and evaluating to develop realistic and achievable strategies. Your knowledge of Government Crime and Disorder policies will be up to date and relevant and you will demonstrate a tactful, diplomatic approach to issues you are faced with along with excellent communication and customer service skills at all times.
