About the role
Social work has never been so important as it is today as we all face the uncertainties of an International pandemic and change.
As individuals are social distancing and isolated, our challenge is to keep people connected, supported and safe from harm. As people struggle with their mental health, loss of work and disability, we believe that social work can offer support and guidance at these difficult times for individuals and families from all diverse backgrounds.
At the Eastbourne Neighbourhood Support Team we are looking to recruit Social Workers / a Resource Officer to enhance our team even further at some of the most challenging times of their lives.
We are looking for Social Workers who are resilient, skilled and self-motivated and who care about and understand the complexities of life that people in our community often face. Your work will be varied, including application of the Care Act, safeguarding adults from abuse, self-neglect work, complex case work including with adults with physical and mental health needs and court work. You will need to be able to work remotely and have a good grasp of contemporary communication platforms and technology.
In return we offer excellent supervision from an experienced management team and the opportunity to rotate within the three domains of the service; duty, first response and case work. You will become a member of a conscientious, experienced and friendly team – making Eastbourne NST the destination to work!
This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau). For further information about what is required in this process please go to http://www.gov.uk/disclosure-barring-service-check. Please note that we require evidence of an overseas police check if you have lived or worked abroad.
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
