With modern public sector offices in the heart of Loughborough, we are looking for a highly experienced town planner to lead a team of professional planning officers in the management and delivery of strategic development proposals to ensure the timely delivery of growth in the borough.
From rural developments and new uses for key historic buildings through to town centre regeneration, large urban extensions as well as major food, agri-tech and other commercial developments.
You will need to manage the overall growth programme in Charnwood to ensure the timely delivery of projects (including robust, consistent and effective systems in respect of risk, financial management and the monitoring of project progress relating to Section 106 trigger points, condition discharge and other delivery mechanisms) to enable informed decision making by the Council and Strategic Growth Board and other statutory bodies.
Who are we looking for?
A qualified planner who is a member of the RTPI and who has a project management qualification or significant relevant experience of managing large scale projects.
You will need to ensure that the Council's ambitions for growth are effectively monitored, managed and reported in order to maintain an appropriate supply of land and to fulfil the council's ambitions for growth are met.
You will need to demonstrate substantial post-qualification experience of development management dealing with complex planning applications, planning appeals and of managing large scale projects within project management environments.
You will have significant experience of public inquiries and committee presentations.
