About us

East Devon is independently recognised as an outstanding place and so it follows that its council must also strive to be outstanding.  Everything we do is aimed at ensuring that East Devon is a place that people want to live in, work in, visit and enjoy.  Our ambition is to be an outstanding council which works together with local people to create great value services and an outstanding community, economy and environment for East Devon, now and for future generations.

About the role

As a Telecare Officer, you’ll install emergency alarms and associated peripherals into the homes of new/existing Careline customers.  You’ll also carry out annual checks ensuring the accuracy of data and testing of equipment as well as triaging faulty units and resolving faults as appropriate.   You’ll also be responsible for ensuring that all relevant documentation is completed and updated on the computer database.

About you

With a good standard of education, you’ll have good IT skills and excellent customer service skills.  Some previous customer service experience would be an advantage. You’ll also have good interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritise your own workload.  Attention to detail is essential and you’ll need to be self-motivated and have a positive outlook.

You’ll also need to be able to use small hand tools as part of the alarm installation process.

A valid driving licence and your own car are essential as regular travel throughout East Devon will be required (reasonable adjustments may be possible according to the Equality Act).
