We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior ICT Officer to join our small but busy ICT team to work across a number of projects as well as to maintain and develop the Council’s systems and infrastructure.
The Council’s Smarter Services Programme sets out to improve service delivery and efficiency by leveraging technology in business processes, with the ICT team being a key enabler. As such we are looking for a candidate with the following core skills and experience:
- An understanding of Project Management principles such as Prince 2 or Agile Scrum/Kanban
- SQL 2016 database design and management
- Net or C#.NET programming experience, ideally with web services
- Microsoft Azure is desirable but not essential.
In addition, you must be a strong IT generalist, with the ability to turn your hand to the maintenance, upgrade and diagnostics of systems and infrastructure within a Microsoft Windows/VMWare/Citrix environment.
You will have worked on an IT Support Helpdesk previously, ideally in a managed service environment, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The ICT service supports approximately 290 licensed users, comprising of directly employed staff, elected members and staff from partner organisations.
