18 Month Fixed Term (x2) / 1.8 FTE (up to £28,672 per annum)
Wokingham is an attractive market town in Berkshire with excellent road and rail links, good schools and low levels of crime. Wokingham Borough Council lies at the centre of a strong regional economy and has a generally healthy, wealthy and well educated and growing population, with small areas of deprivation. We have low funding and the smallest number of staff per resident of any unitary authority. We are efficient and effective and achieve a lot thanks to our hard working staff and councillors.
Our Income and Assessment Department are committed to continuous improvement through engagement with our staff, to help us to provide better services and value to our communities and residents.
We are seeking [x2 FTCs] Income and Payment Specialist(s) to increase the amount of income we collect and minimise the financial hardship suffered by any customers.
As part of a customer facing team you will help deliver a quality service to vulnerable residents, in particular those accessing care. You will need to problem solve, while having positive proactive conversations to improve collection rates. You will need to liaise with multiple departments and be confident handling difficult situations whilst also ensuring records are correctly entered and maintained.
With your help we’ll increase Direct Debit take up, triage complaints, help customers with forms, set up customer payment plans and support improvement projects.
If you pride yourself on your attention to detail and have relevant customer care, income collection or social care experience we’d love to hear from you. This post is normally based at our offices in Wokingham, however we expect this role will be done from home, where possible, during the pandemic.
