2 Principal Project Officers – Housing Infrastructure Fund
In November 2019, Medway Council was awarded £170m from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) for the Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF) called New Routes to Good Growth project. The £170m bid represents the funding needed to forward fund the physical transport and environmental infrastructure required to unlock potential new development on the Hoo Peninsula of 12,100 new homes by 2043.
The £170m HIF funding is allocated across three key areas of Road, Rail and Strategic Environmental Management Scheme (SEMS), and the infrastructure must be completed by the 31/03/24.
The proposed road infrastructure intervention includes a package of highway improvements to the existing network and the construction of a new relief road providing capacity to enable access for the Hoo Peninsula; the rail intervention includes a station and track developments to enable the reintroduction of passenger services from the area to and from London and other parts of Kent, and SEMS is focused on the delivery of a Cumulative Ecological Impact Assessment (CEIA) and the planning / delivery of a new country park close to the River Medway.
This is an exciting, high profile and complex project and needs to be delivered at pace to ensure delivery within the funding period
We are looking for 2 Principal Project Officer to join the team to support the delivery of this project for the Highway, and the Rail, Land & Legal interventions.
The successful candidates must have significant experience in dealing with a variety of regeneration projects, have excellent project management delivery skills with a good understanding of the regeneration agenda, and you will be a proven deliverer. This is your opportunity to be part of a dynamic team to deliver significant development and improvements within Medway.
