About the Post:
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape participation and engagement with a wide range of parents/carers and partners in Barnsley. Working as part of the Education Inclusion Service, you will support services to hear the voices of parents/carers who have children and young people with SEND. You will develop inclusive and imaginative ways for them to have their say and help shape delivery.
Using your excellent communication and facilitation skills, you will co-produce, with parents/cares, good practice tools and design processes to support high quality participation, engagement and consultation practice, taking a lead on specific projects.
You will also support and empower people to develop and take forward solutions to issues, using co-design and coproduction approaches.
You will have:
- Experience of working with a diverse range of parents/carers in an empowering and person-centred manner.
- Good knowledge of engagement methodologies, and legislation and policy around the rights and inclusion of children and young people with SEND.
- Experience in managing engagement with different groups, including where there has been conflicting demands and challenge around decisions and strategic objectives.
