Here in our Youth Support Service, we are committed to helping young people achieve their potential – and you can play your part. This is your chance to ensure disadvantaged young people get the futures they deserve.
Working within a dedicated and committed team, you will work with a caseload of young people, aged 13-25 years old who have a range of complex needs including learning difficulties and disabilities. You will use your excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with young people and to help identify and overcome barriers to their participation in further education, training or employment. Working to an agreed action plan and keeping accurate records, you will support their development and achievement. You will work closely with other agencies, post 16 education providers and parents/carers to support transition working with the processes around Education, Health and Care plans.
Tenacious, proactive and approachable, you will have substantial experience of working with young people. You will be qualified to at least Level 3 in a relevant professional subject area. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work in partnership with other agencies are essential to this role.
The successful candidate will undertake an NVQ Level 4 in Information, Advice and Guidance with the possibility of progressing to Level 6 Careers Guidance qualification.
