Our transport network is at the heart of this and the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) is responsible for setting the region’s transport strategies and policies; leading and delivering major transport schemes across the region; and co-ordinating the transport input of the region’s three constituent council’s – Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager to join the team.
Based in Bristol (with home working) and working to the Head of Transport, you will be responsible for leading and delivering the Future Transport Zone programme in the West of England from concept through to procurement and into operational service. This is a £28m high profile, innovative and flagship project for the region and one of only four Future Transport Zones nationally.
This will put you at the heart of shaping future transport solutions in the region through leading successful trials of novel and emerging transport modes, new business models, and generating new insights to embed the approaches into ‘business as usual’ as an integrated element of the region’s future transport.
The FTZ Programme Manager will provide strategic direction and oversight for several projects including: a Data Hub, Maas Platform, Demand Responsive Transport, Mobility Hubs and Micromobility Solutions.
You’ll have enthusiasm and a passion for making a difference, with an active interest in the future of mobility; a degree or equivalent experience in a technical, business or transport-related subject; experience in project and programme management; demonstrable business and commercial acumen; and experience leading innovative projects in public transport.
