Support Worker - Women’s Centre
30 hours per week. 12 month fixed term contract.
Halton Women’s Centre is located in Runcorn and provides supportive opportunities and interventions to assist women of all ages living in Halton who are in transition, crisis or distress.
The Centre fulfils many diverse needs for the women by offering support, encouragement and care within a safe environment, to women often living chaotic and unhappy lives. We deliver services and programs to rebuild confidence, self-esteem and emotional strength, offer a safe haven and stepping stones to living a healthier life, build on personal resilience and be more positive working towards moving forward.
We are seeking an experienced female support worker to work creatively as part of a team to provide focused support, advice, encouragement and guidance to vulnerable women to make choices about their lives, promote recovery, increase social interaction and maximise their independence.
We are looking for a professional, compassionate and innovative female who can facilitate a range of activities in line with individual and service needs. The post is on a 12 month fixed term contract and you must be able to work flexibly between Monday and Friday, which may include some early evenings.
The successful candidate will have existing knowledge and skills in care, holding an NVQ 2 or equivalent in a care related discipline. Experience of working with adults with mental health problems, domestic abuse or offenders is desirable as well as an understanding of legislation, guidance and policy in these areas.
Working within a team you will develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of professionals and services so that appropriate resources may be identified and mobilised for the benefit of the individual. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with people from a wide range of backgrounds. You must be confident to discuss sensitive and difficult subjects calmly and professionally and possess good listening skills.
You should be able to accurately maintain clear and concise written records.
