The Technical Services department has responsibility for maintaining and providing advice for an extensive and diverse portfolio of both operational and non-operational premises. The portfolio consists of office buildings, leisure facilities, car parks, commercial premises, bereavement services buildings and social housing premises.
The Council is seeking an Assistant Building Surveyor to join our Capital Projects team. You will assist the team in ensuring that the Council’s assets are fit for purpose for staff, residents and visitors alike; and achieving our zero carbon target by 2030.
Here is the opportunity to develop your skills as a Building Surveyor, by gaining first hand experience of compiling and managing capital projects. Initially you will manage simple and low value contracts and will assist the team as required on the more complex projects. As you develop, we will tailor your workload to provide you with the experience needed to become a well rounded Building Surveyor.
Projects and assignments will involve a varied team of professionals. You will need excellent time management and communication skills to deliver a high standard of service to our internal client base.
As gatekeeper for the drawings of our corporate buildings you will be organised, skilled in the use of AutoCAD and will demonstrate a keen eye for detail.
