Salary: £26,772 - £28,606 per annum

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the established Rother Tenant Finder Service. You will need an understanding of the needs of the private rented sector and balance these against the needs of a range of homeless households to whom the Council owes a housing duty. You will work to develop and promote a range of new and existing measures designed to increase the supply of affordable accommodation in the private rented sector for homeless households to access. You will positively engage with landlords and estate agents to develop and promote these measures and oversee a local landlords forum.
An increasing number of families with children as well as single homeless people require assistance to access private rented accommodation, your role will be to procure new accommodation in the private rented sector to meet this growing demand. You will work with a wider team of homelessness professionals to make these properties accessible to a range of homeless groups.
The postholder will in addition to the procurement of new properties manage and support the tenancy sustainment work to ensure that the Private Sector has confidence that Rother is a trusted housing partner.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working Private Sector housing or housing related field as well as supervisory experience in a multi-disciplined customer focused service. You must have the ability to travel around the District. You will be able to work under pressure and within time restraints while having strong influencing, negotiating and relationship building skills.
