Town Economic Development Officer
6 Month Fixed Term Contract – equivalent salary £28,000/year fixed.

Huntingdonshire District Council is recruiting a 6 month fixed term role, to play a key role within the Opening Towns project team. Able to start this October or November, you will work with a team drawn from all Council services and external marketing agencies to maximise the benefits to our Market Towns of a Local Christmas in 2020 encompassing Visit, Shop and Eat Local.
- To be a visible presence in Huntingdonshire’s Towns and engage with businesses and members of the public to capture feedback from our town centres to encourage and promote best practice and a positive experience.
- To co-ordinate the implication of measures to support each Town, including physical changes, communications, and promotion to achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of visitors to the town and stimulating a positive customer experience.
- To support the delivery of market towns with a reputation for safe and welcoming environment whilst celebrating local shopping, local products, and our unique market towns.
If you have a degree or relevant professional experience in events, marketing, promotions, business support and advice we would love to hear from you. You will need to have good IT skills including social media and Microsoft office applications so you can make a difference as quickly as possible.
