An exciting opportunity has opened in the Planning Enforcement Team for the position of Enforcement Officer. The post holder will carry out a number of critical functions for the borough including processing planning enforcement matters, bringing Empty Homes back into use and monitoring and making safe buildings that may be structural unsound.

Who are you?
We are seeking someone with ideally with a background and interest in planning enforcement or similar enforcement role, with strong verbal and written communication skills and a strong customer focus to join the Development Management Team as an Enforcement Officer. You will need to be able to comfortable making detailed site visits and assessments of alleged breaches of planning control and dealing with customers face to face and via correspondence.
The job will be wide-ranging and exciting, with an opportunity to deal with all types of enforcement cases, managing your own caseload while working with others in the Service and supporting other Services on Borough wide enforcement matters. The team is fast paced and seeks to work positively in enforcement and to work with planning officers to control unauthorised development and protect the community for local residents.
You’ll have the ability to work flexibly, as part of a busy and high performing team, while we will provide you with opportunities to undertake relevant training to help you develop in your role and further progress your career.
