We have a great opportunity to join the Chief Executive and Chief Land Registrar’s Office, as a Board Secretariat Lead. In this role you will be responsible for a range of our most senior governance boards and committees to ensure that HMLR runs effectively and efficiently and complies with high standards in corporate governance. This a fast paced and high-profile role that will allow you to gain experience, engage with senior leaders and make a real impact at the heart of HM land Registry.
Board Secretariat Lead Responsibilities:
You will have end-to-end responsibility to plan, manage and deliver each of your meetings, including leading on the development of agendas, taking into account strategic priorities and directors requirements including challenging where appropriate. You will be responsible for the reporting and follow up of actions flowing from the meetings. You will ensure that papers are quality assured and delivered to the board or committee members in a timely fashion. This will include commissioning papers and ensuring papers focus discussions on key issues.
You will be responsible for managing the meeting itself and taking minutes, using your knowledge and networking capability to ensure the effectiveness of the board or committee in focussing on key issues. This requires close collaboration with executive directors and other senior colleagues to ensure that key issues are driven forward and that paper submissions follow the correct path.
You will develop and demonstrate a detailed understanding of all HMLR boards and committees’ terms of references. You will be comfortable working in a flexible way, at pace, and where you can cover for the other Board Secretariat Lead when required.
Board Secretariat Lead Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in a similar role which includes providing first class secretariat support to senior/directing boards or committees in a fast-paced environment, maintaining confidentiality. You can assimilate large amounts of information at pace with a consistently high degree of accuracy, including through minute taking.
Through your excellent organisational skills, you will have the ability to prioritise tasks and work to meet tight deadlines, under pressure with changing priorities. You have a proven track record of stakeholder relationship building and management with senior staff and with strong communication skills to support that. You can work successfully alone and as part of a team.

Salary: £33,175 (Croydon £36,559)
