Job Title: Siftware Engineer & Data Analyst

Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Fixed until 31.10.2021
As a result of a joined effort between ACS (Adult Care Services) and ICT (Information & Communication Technology) a Proof of Concept to test out new emerging digitally enabled Assistive Technology (AT) solutions was recently completed. Members and the ACS Management Board have now endorsed a locality rollout of AT across East and North Herts in the first instance. This is an exciting time for ACS to be able to design and implement a bespoke and modern AT offer that can be incorporated as an integral part of a person’s care plan.
The success of this initiative might also lead to a further technology transformation programme which will serve other HCC (Hertfordshire County Council) organisations with IoT (Internet of Things) and digital enabled solutions to make efficiencies and ensure continuous improvement in various enterprise domains (i.e. waste management, highways, environment, etc..).
The Assistive Technology Team is recruiting a suitably experienced and committed ‘IoT Software Engineer and Data Analyst’ to be part of this exciting initiative on a fixed term/ secondment basis for one year initially with a possibility of a further year’s extension. The successful candidate for this post might also be involved in further IoT initiatives at the completion of the AT project.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate for this post will be responsible for implementing analytics platform products. These products will be the part of the IoT core solutions which are key in the delivery of HCC services. The post holder is required to have a strong background in analytics and software engineering with experience in the use of machine learning tools within the domain of IoT technologies. Good teamwork skills and the ability to self-motivate are also essential in this role.
