To carry out general cleaning of Gravesham Borough Council Civic Centre including the cleaning of: Kitchens, Toilets, Meeting Rooms, Staircases and Office Areas. To ensure the cleaning of the interior and exterior of the building is to a high standard of cleanliness. Cleaning tasks to include however are not limited to cleaning toilets, mopping floors, cleaning and dusting desks, high and low level dusting, cleaning and polishing of fixtures and fittings, hoovering, changing bins, unblocking toilets, replacing toilet rolls, hand towels and soap as required. The Post holder will be responsible for ensuring the toilet facilities and kitchens are fit for use and that any floods or blockages are cleared in a timely manner. The post holder will liaise with the Cleaning Supervisor and Facilities Officer to report any repairs and maintenance issues including any Health and Safety concerns. The post holder must be flexible and may be required to undertake work not listed above, such duties will however fall within the scope of the role.
Previous cleaning experience, good knowledge and understanding of COSHH, Health and Safety in the workplace, experience of working individually and as part of a wider team, Good understanding of manual handling and safe systems of work. Ability to work as part of a team, unsupervised and alone using own initiative.
General handyperson skills, first aid qualification, clean driving license.
