We are seeking to appoint a full time Development Worker within the Community Learning Team.

 

The North Somerset Community Learning Team is part of a wider South West Community Learning Consortium with Bristol City Council. The function of the team is to provide courses to vulnerable adults with few or no qualification (and/or those facing multiple barriers to engaging in learning and work) to enable positive and inclusive outcomes.

 

You will be expected to organise and procure a wide range of Community Learning courses in order to meet Education & Skills Funding Agency targets and the learning needs of the local community within North Somerset.

 

You will need to develop ‘agile’ courses that can be delivered online as well as in a classroom. You will be confident in the use of a range of online platforms such as Google Drive, Google Classroom, Teams and Zoom and able to support tutors to use these tools confidently to support their learners.

 

You will need to build positive relationships with learners, tutors and partner agencies through collaborative working to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes e.g. improved health, greater skills and knowledge and increased employability.

 

The post holder will need to have a L3 Award in Education & Training or equivalent and some practical experience of working with a diverse group of learners.

 

This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitations of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
