We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Caretaker to join our Environmental works Team to provide an effective caretaking and cleaning service for the community.
Working as part of a team of Caretakers you will be responsible for ensuring the service is delivered to the required standards under the management of the caretaker supervisor.
We are seeking a person who shares our enthusiasm for the protection and enhancement of the borough’s environment and be motivated to contribute to team targets and performance. As a part of our fantastic team of Caretakers, you will be operating within a responsive and fast-paced environment, providing an outstanding service to our residents and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality caretaking service throughout the borough.
As part of this role, you will be required to complete an Apprenticeship Framework Qualification in Facilities Services level 2.
You will conduct maintenance inspection as well as carrying out compliance checks of emergency light and smoke alarm testing within communal areas, filling out defect reports and daily inspection sheets.
Do you have a good knowledge of caretaking duties with good communication skills?
Do you have the ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment dealing with conflicting priorities? As well as resilience and the ability to multi-task in a changing environment and meet agreed deadlines with the Caretaker Supervisor.
Do you have an ability to understand, maintain and manage confidential information appropriately in line with WLBC behavioural core standards?
Do you have a proactive approach and the ability to think and act on own initiative with minimal supervision when required?
Do you have a clean valid driving license with experience of driving a 3.5 Tonne vehicle (this will be checked before employment)?

The Facilities Services Operative level 2 Apprenticeship Framework, is a 12 month programme with the inclusion of Maths and English, this mean the learner must sit Level 1 Functional skills alongside the Apprenticeship if they do not have a previous qualification in these subjects to the same level or higher. Applicants must have the ability to undertake a Level 2 Apprenticeship Framework and achieve Functional skills level 1 in Literacy and numeracy.
