The primary purpose of this role is to provide executive support to the Leaders of the Councils, the Chief Executive, and Directors. The post holder will be able to operate confidentially and confidently in a highly political and sensitive working environment. This will involve a range of duties including prioritising and dealing with correspondence and communication, arranging meetings, liaising with partner organisations and providing assistance at high profile committee meetings.
The post holder will work closely with all members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Leaders of the Councils, the Democratic Services Team and elected Members and will possess and display excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The role requires the provision of management support within a political environment and will involve working across two local authorities. The post holder will have extensive knowledge of council processes and services and be confident in managing conflicting priorities, dealing with formal complaints and supporting SLT and elected Members to ensure compliance with governance.
