About the role
The Southfield Trust is seeking to appoint classroom based teaching assistants from October 2020 to undertake learning support duties and assist the class teacher in the day to day needs of the pupils. Teaching assistants are also expected to support the teacher with the delivery of the curriculum and respond to the pupils’ needs enabling them to make rapid progress. Pupils may have speech and language needs, autism or learning difficulties. Some students also have associated emotional/ behavioural difficulties.
The Southfield Multi Academy Trust consists of three exceptional special schools – The South Downs School, The Lindfield School and Hazel Court School, which provide the best possible educational opportunities for all its learners and their families. Teaching Assistant 2 – Post information
Fixed term post until 31st March 2021 / part time
Hours of work: 30 hours per week - Monday to Friday - term time only (working for 39 weeks per year plus 5.65 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 year’s continuous service).
A half hour unpaid lunch break is additional to these hours.
Salary range: Single Status Grade 3.7 / £18,562
(As this post is part time the salary will be paid pro rata of this full time figure)
Actual pro rata salary: £12,888 per annum
