About the role

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity?

Due to the promotion of our deputy, Nutley Church of England Primary School is now seeking to appoint a dynamic and ambitious deputy head teacher, who has the drive and experience to work alongside the head teacher to form a strong senior leadership team.  Our lovely school is situated in the delightful village of Nutley on the A22.   Nutley is on the periphery of East Sussex with close proximity to the neighbouring counties of West Sussex and Kent, which are within easy driving distance.  Nutley is on the edge of the Ashdown Forest, an area of outstanding beauty; uniquely the school has direct access to the forest, with its spectacular views and diverse plant and wildlife, from School Lane.

We take pride in creating a warm and friendly environment and, in addition to academic excellence, place great emphasis on the social, emotional, creative and physical development of our pupils. The staff are child focussed and dedicated with a strong commitment to teamwork. The school has a real sense of community and we have well rounded, confident and thriving children with supportive parents.

Our role of deputy will be combined with teaching one of our Key Stage Two classes.  You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner who is committed to raising standards of achievement for all children and can demonstrate outstanding pupil progress.  You will possess strong management skills and demonstrate effective communications with staff, parents, governors and the wider community.  Nutley CEP School is a member of the Uckfield Town Schools' Alliance.

Whether you’re an experienced deputy head teacher looking for a new challenge or an ambitious but capable teacher poised for your first leadership role with the energy, vision and desire to succeed; we are keen to hear from you.  If you feel that you can lead and contribute to our core purpose and Christian values and you wish to make an impact on the lives of our children at Nutley CE Primary School, we look forward to receiving your application.

We would encourage candidates to visit the school prior to making an application so that we can answer any questions you may have and so that you can fully appreciate what a wonderful school, location and teaching environment Nutley Church of England Primary School provides.  Please telephone 01825 712575 if you would like to arrange an informal visit.
