The Holy Brook School is looking to appoint a highly motivated, caring and committed Learning Team Assistant who will be supporting the educational and emotional development of a child with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The role is fixed term for up to a maximum of 3 years but may be shorter.

Job Purpose

You will be working alongside the class teacher to develop, implement and review the pupil’s individual education plan with appropriate learning and behaviour targets.

You will ensure the pupils voice and opinions are represented at any review meetings. You will also be familiar with the Holy Brook School curriculum and be able to adapt lesson plans & create resources to ensure that the pupil has full access to it.


Working under the supervision of the Deputy Head Teacher and HLTA you will help to develop an individual pupil risk assessment which provides a clear outline of how the pupil presents when safe, calm and relaxed and how behaviours escalate in-line with growing anxieties.

The successful candidate will also work alongside visiting professionals such as the Educational Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Therapist to deliver any support programmes which have been agreed.
