About the role
Senior Finance Officer
We are pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity to join the Finance team in East Sussex County Council where we are seeking to fill, on a permanent basis, the following, currently vacant, positions:
- Senior Finance Officer supporting the Adult Social Care & Public Health directorate,
- Senior Finance Officer supporting the Communities, Economy & Transport directorate.
Who will you be?
As a Finance Business Partner, you will need to be self-motivated and pro-active in how you deliver your work and you will have excellent communication skills.
You will develop an understanding of the services you work alongside and quickly build great working relationships with both service customers and finance colleagues so that you are able to enhance the quality of the service we provide.
The services you support would look to you to undertake financial appraisals and reviews relating to new legislative and service initiatives, providing input to business case development, using modelling techniques and assessing their impact on services.
Demonstrating financial competence, you will provide accounting and financial advice to budget holders who manage and make the decisions for how the Council runs its services.
Using performance monitoring techniques, you will bring insight and challenge, helping to improve the effectiveness of the services we provide, recommending improvements to performance and value for money.
With your excellent ICT skills you will undertake research, perform data analysis and ensure the accurate and timely reporting of financial and management information. You will be confident in presenting and discussing this information concisely at both internal and external meetings, in working groups and project teams.
You will be comfortable with virtual meeting technology and be excited by the opportunity to develop and improve how we communicate and present financial information and analysis.
We welcome any specific questions from you before you apply, so for an informal discussion, please contact: Andy Fowler – Finance Manager tel 07825523640
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
