Senior Finance Business Partner (P1577)
15-month fixed term contract subject to review
Salary range from £36,543 to £40,391 per year
+ up to 18.5% employer pension contribution
We are looking for a talented candidate to join our finance team to work closely with our service areas, creating a real and active partnership. Your role will be to provide 'real time' support and analysis, to be a trusted adviser and add value to support decision making.
Critical to your success will be your mix of analytical, commercial and communication skills together with problem solving which is at the heart of successful finance business partnering. You will actively influence day to day decisions, shaping strategy and the direction of the business, and be the interface or ‘translator’ between finance and operations. You must also be able to identify and win over senior stakeholders, to build relationships and persuade in order to achieve service objectives.
You will contribute to financial planning including preparation of long-term plans, strategic and operational developments supporting the service. You will lead the annual budget cycle for your Head of Service both revenue and capital. You will contribute to the production of Statutory and Charity Accounts for the Council, alongside other Finance Managers.
You must be a qualified professional with natural commercial acumen and ability to see the 'bigger picture'. Strong analytical capability and deep understanding of financial concepts together with the analytical capability to inform decision making is essential for this role. Ability to manage in an 'agile' way and excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills are essential.
