Salary: £24,373 - £40,490 per annum, plus SEN and possible TLR

About the role
St Mary’s is a residential special school and college for children with a range of SEND including speech, language and communication, autism and other associated difficulties.
We welcome applications from highly successful primary, secondary, mainstream or special school teachers.

We require practitioners who are innovative and able to adapt well to new challenges. Successful candidates will have a commitment to raising achievement in a school setting, the ability to demonstrate outstanding practice, curriculum planning, implementing additional support programs to meet pupils’ specific needs and experience of managing a support staff team. Our teachers are also class tutors & have pastoral responsibilities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Knowledge & understanding of students with speech, language & communication difficulties and autism; successful previous experience, a strong track record in teaching and learning and:
- An understanding & interest in SEN, preferably with experience in working with students requiring additional support in accessing the curriculum;
- The ability to ensure aspirational pupil progress for all pupils, regardless of prior attainment, which is usually significantly below age related expectations;
- The ability to work effectively within a team.
