An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Legal and Compliance Team at Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council. This role is responsible for managing a varied caseload of contentious matters and includes advocacy in Civil and Criminal Courts. You will also provide legal advice and assistance on a range of issues across all Council directorates and Committees. This role would be interest someone who possesses excellent problem-solving skills and who enjoys a varied caseload working with a small team of professionals.
The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a current practising certificate. Litigation and advocacy experience is essential.
The position carries an Approved Casual Car User Allowance therefore a full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.
Thorough pre-employment screening is undertaken during the recruitment process. The postholder will be required to complete an application for a Disclosure of Criminal Records.
