Effective Social Work involves developing and maintaining good quality professional relationships with children and their families. We are looking for skilled social workers who are prepared to commit to working in this way, and in recognition of this we have developed a unique package of benefits designed to support social workers to achieve this aim. We know the work is demanding and to be effective social workers need manageable case loads, good supervision and a real break from the work from time to time that is why we are investing in off line clinical supervision and sabbaticals for all front line staff working in child protection. We utilise the Family Safeguarding Model within CAAS and aim to work with families in a way that recognises and builds on their strengths.
West Berkshire is committed to providing a wide range of training and development opportunities to support you in your career development.
CAAS is forward thinking and innovative in its practice. We are looking for individuals with drive and enthusiasm who are highly motivated to achieve ‘best outcomes’. If you are looking for a challenging and highly rewarding experience with a service that has a focus on continued learning and professional development we would welcome your application. You will be joining a service that is stable and fully staffed by permanent workers and managers.
In addition to our generous annual leave package and Local Government Pension, as a Social Worker CAAS, you will benefit from free car parking, car allowances and access to car loans. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a relocation package of up to £8k.
CAAS Social Workers also benefit from a newly launched Early Response Hub which provides interventions and support plans for families who do not require a statutory intervention but do need support to prevent an escalation of the difficulties they are facing. West Berkshire Council has invested in the non-statutory Early Response Hub to ensure that statutory social workers have improved capacity to deliver services to the families of West Berkshire.
Applicants must be qualified with a minimum of one years post qualifying experience and an active Social Worker; registered with Social Work England. A full driving licence is essential because of the rural nature of the district. Our main offices are based in Newbury and the outskirts of Reading.
