The service provides adoption support to families and adults to enable them to live well and have positive, healthy relationships. Being an Adoption Social Worker is an important and rewarding role. You’ll be part of a dedicated team with an excellent record of recruiting and supporting adopters and children. You’ll make sure that each adopter understands their role and responsibilities and that the service is able to provide a choice of high-quality placements for children who require adoption. By providing training and support you will ensure that children are placed without delay with families who are able to meet each individual child’s needs.
Adoption Connects is a Regional Adoption Agency providing adoption services on behalf of Central Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes Council. As an Adoption Social Worker, you will be working across both authorities to provide high quality services.
A qualified Social Worker who’s HCPC-registered with a minimum of three years adoption experience. You will know about statutory social work practice and completing complex assessments. Experience of using a wide range of social work techniques with children and families will also be of benefit. Your technical talents should come with a calm, organised approach. You will be supporting others in a crisis and using your initiative to solve issues and recommend support plans. You will also have the communication skills to present high-quality reports to panels and work with other agencies. You will also need sound IT skills and maintain capable, professional conduct at all times.
