Salary: PO1 £33,945 to £36,711
X1 Fixed term appointment (Minimum 6 months)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housing Consultation and Resident Engagement Officer in the Housing Services team based at the Edmonton Green Library, Enfield. This is a small team working alongside colleagues across the council.
We are looking for a Housing Consultation and Resident Engagement Officer, who will play a central part in our ambition to shape a progressive service offer for our tenants & leaseholders and for our wide range of development and regeneration programmes. As a Housing Consultation and Resident Engagement Officer, you will lead on developing and delivering a comprehensive engagement programme aimed at Council tenants and leaseholders across Enfield. You will be responsible for organising both large and small events across various sites in Enfield as well as online events.
You will be working with Council services, community groups, and other public and private stakeholders, to ensure events are exciting, engaging, and informative; helping to meet the Council's key strategic aims for the Housing Service and beyond.
You will be working closely with the Council’s key residents’ groups and scrutiny panels, facilitating panel meetings, and supporting the groups to scrutinise and improve council services for all residents and stakeholders in the borough.
You will support the development and implementation of the consultation and engagement strategy across housing, driving increased participation of tenants and leaseholders across all consultations, events and online, especially through social media.
To be successful in this exciting role you will have experience of transforming resident engagement in an inner city borough, you will be an experienced participation officer with a history of motivating residents to engage with council services, creating and sustaining thriving communities, high performance and exceptional customer service. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be self-motivated and computer literate.

An external candidate, including Enfield Council agency workers, would be appointed on a fixed term contract, whilst internal candidates who are Council employees, would normally be expected to take up the post on a secondment basis.
To be eligible to apply for a secondment, Enfield Council employees must have completed probation and must have discussed/agreed the proposed secondment with their line manager. Fixed term contracts may be considered where secondment is not possible.
Secondments are the temporary loan of an employee from one part of the organisation to another part of the organisation and rely on the secondee to return to their substantive position on completion of the secondment.
