Here in our Youth Support Service, we are committed to helping young people achieve their potential – and you can play your part. This is your chance to ensure disadvantaged young people get the futures they deserve.
Working within a dedicated and committed team, you will work with a caseload of young people, aged 13-25 years old who have a range of complex needs including learning difficulties and disabilities. You will use your excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with young people and to help identify and overcome barriers to their participation in further education, training or employment. Working to an agreed action plan and keeping accurate records, you will support their development and achievement. You will work closely with other agencies, post 16 education providers and parents/carers to support transition working with the processes around Education, Health and Care plans.
Tenacious, proactive and approachable, you will be a qualified Personal Adviser and have experience of working with young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities in an IAG (information, advice and guidance) role. You will be qualified to at least NVQ4 in learning, development and support services/IAG or hold the Diploma in Career Guidance and Development. Confident working on your own initiative, you will have sound advocacy and negotiation skills. Above all, you will have a genuine interest in working closely with young people to raise their aspirations and improve their lives.
