An excellent opportunity has arisen within our Business Support Team for an enthusiastic apprentice who is looking to develop a career within West Lancashire Borough Council.
You will work alongside experienced staff and play an important support role within the wider Business Support Team in delivering administrative services to our customers. You will undertake general clerical and administrative duties in the answering of the telephone, photocopying, scanning and data input.
The post-holder will be responsible for the inputting of data and maintaining electronic records and therefore, excellent keyboard skills and experience of using Microsoft Word are desired. You will also have a minimum of Maths and English GCSE (Grade 4 – 9 i.e. C or above) or equivalent.
The apprenticeship will last for 23 months in which time you will commit to undertaking a Business and Administration NVQ Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship course at West Lancs College in Skelmersdale. This is a good opportunity to develop and learn, offering real hands on work experience, whilst accessing an appropriate training course, for which time off to attend college will be given. Employment with the Council is not guaranteed at the end of the apprenticeship.
