About the Post:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Core Services Directorate in Barnsley Council as a Management Support Officer, providing a comprehensive and efficient Business Support service predominantly to the Service Director for Finance.
As a Management Support Officer you will support Service Directors within the Core Services Directorate to enable them to fulfil their role effectively in the context of a highly-pressurised working environment, taking ownership of specific issues within the service, co-ordinating and monitoring milestones through to resolution. The role specifically involves email and diary management, arranging and servicing meetings i.e. minute taking and taking responsibility for following up actions or projects arising from the meeting. You will be required to deal effectively with politically and commercially sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
You will hold a NVQ level 3 or equivalent level qualification in a business related subject.
You will be flexible in your approach in order to ensure the overall service objectives are achieved, be an excellent team player and willing to make a solid contribution to the smooth running of the service.
