Role Purpose

ThePollution Team is based within the Environmental Health and TradingStandards Service and is able to draw on resources and expertise acrossthe Service.

The postholder will assist us in developing our strategies in dealing with airquality, project management, regulatory and enforcement activities.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have agood understanding of the key pollutants within an inner city environment andwill be able to come up and develop strategies to reduce the effects of thosepollutants using the full range of Environmental Health powers and legislation.

They mustcritically be able to review planning applications to ensure that environmentalimpacts are mitigated.

They will beworking in a multi-skilled team dealing with air quality projects, contaminatedland, permitted processes, investigating complaints, dealing with planningapplications.

The post holder will deputise for the Team Manager and will need to have experience of leading and managing a Team and projects.

Requirements

The successful applicant will have abackground in environmental analysis, majoring on air quality and a goodunderstanding of regional strategies.
