Redbridge Communication Centre monitor Community Lifeline Alarms under the Directorate of Health & Adult Social Services we are currently looking to recruit Lifeline & Response Officers to work within the Redbridge Communication Centres Control room in Ley Street Ilford we operate 24 hours a day 7 day a week. The Service is looking to appoint an officer who brings a ‘can-do’ attitude and will complement the existing Lifeline & Response team.
This will consist of working 8 hours a day on a rolling 3 shift pattern the applicant must be able to work early, late and night shifts including weekends and Bank holidays for which a shift 16% allowance will be paid and you will be required to carry out the dual role of call handling and Visiting and response.
The Lifeline service answers calls from the vulnerable & elderly from their emergency lifeline we also receive calls out of hours for the whole Borough of Redbridge this includes, Social services, District Nurses, Homeless and other internal & external agencies. The response service includes assisting clients, who may have fallen in their own homes installing lifeline alarms, please note full training will be given.
It would be desirable but not essential for you to have experience of working with Assistive Technology equipment and experience answering & responding to calls from elderly vulnerable people or people with physical or learning disabilities using bespoke call handling software.
We are looking for someone who can work on own initiative able to undertake assessments and arrange installations, problem solve at short notice out of hours in the office and during installation and liaise effectively with colleagues (internal & external) at all levels.
You will require experience of administrative systems, processes and functions with the ability to use a range of IT Software systems including Outlook and word, and accurately maintain manual and computer based records.
