The Speech & Language Therapy Service is part of Merton Language and Learning Support Team.

This small multidisciplinary, much respected and Borough Excellence Award winning team delivers statutory work, EHCP assessment and a unique buy-back service providing therapy, training, support and advice across Merton schools. You will require knowledge of good practice models for working with children with speech, language and communication delay and disorders as well as ASD, group and individual interventions as well as whole school approaches.

Experience of using additional and augmentative communication systems including signing and communication aids would also be extremely desirable.  The post holder will be expected to work remotely but directly with pupils, parents, teachers, school staff, managers and other agencies as well as with the teachers and therapists in the Language and Learning Support Team. Supervision will be provided by the Language and Learning Support Team via the Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist Team Leader.

There is also an excellent peer support network. The Merton pay levels are equivalent to and in line with the NHS banding. Mileage or public transport costs between schools is covered, as are any training (in line with CPD) and professional fees incurred.

We welcome applications from newly graduated students.
