Join Camden’s new estates management service

We are looking for talented people to join our new estates management service which launches in 2020. A local team to support residents and keep their homes clean and safe, this new service will play an important part in our communities and has been shaped by the people who call our council houses home.

Estates management is hugely important to the council and residents. The newly launched service will include highly trained caretakers who will be focused on providing a more local service and keeping our residents safe.

The role

The Caretaking Manager is responsible for the delivery of a consistently high standard of cleanliness to residential buildings as well as external areas within the parameters of Camden’s estates.

You will have a wide and varied remit that involves overseeing the performance standards of waste management, grounds maintenance and managing health and safety issues particularly involving resident and staff safety. You will identify and report hazards, working with contractors through to supporting first responders in any emergency situation.

Responsible for a team of up to ten caretakers, you will be empowered and expected to pro-actively identify and resolve factors and barriers that can inhibit the smooth running of the service, developing innovative ways to work with residents for improved service delivery.

About you

You will have a proven ability to lead and inspire staff to enhance their capability to achieve the requirements of the role whilst ensuring service delivery and excellent customer care standards.

You will be able to utilise manual handling equipment as required as well as carry out health and safety inspections.

Experience of prioritising and planning conflicting workloads on a regular basis in order to meet deadlines and set targets is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with residents, contractors, colleagues, elected members, contractors etc.

This post holder is required to hold a full current UK Driving License.
